Privacy & Security
DeskRobo is designed around one principle: your business data does not leave your PC.
Everything happens on your PC
Building, saving and running flows, reading and writing files and Excel, operating screens and logging all happen on your PC. No usage data (telemetry) is sent automatically.
When DeskRobo goes online
DeskRobo connects to the internet only in the following cases.
- Update checks: to see whether a new version is available. Only information such as the app version is sent.
- Sign-in: when you sign in to your account to use AI features.
- AI features: when you run an AI feature such as error explanation yourself.
What AI features send
Sent
- The command name of the failed step
- The error message
- A summary of recent log entries
- The contents of a file you specify, only when you ask for fields to be read from it
Never sent
- Screenshots
- Variable values
- Contents of files you did not specify
- Passwords for business systems
The server records only who used AI, when, how much and whether it succeeded. The content you sent is not stored.
Protecting credentials
- Sign-in information is encrypted per Windows user with the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI).
- Business-system passwords used in flows are stored encrypted in Windows Credential Manager and are never written to flow files in plain text.
- Secrets such as AI service API keys are not included in the app. All AI connections go through our server.
- Passwords and tokens are never written to logs.
