Getting started
It takes about 10 minutes from download to running your first flow. (The app's interface is in Japanese; English meanings are given in parentheses.)
-
1Download
Save the latest ZIP file from the download section. It is usually saved to your Downloads folder.
-
2Verify the file (optional)
Run the following command in PowerShell. If the value matches the SHA-256 shown in the download section, the file was downloaded correctly.
Get-FileHash "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\DeskRobo.zip" -Algorithm SHA256 -
3Extract
Right-click the ZIP file and choose "Extract All". Any folder you can write to, such as Desktop or Documents, is fine.
Double-clicking the exe inside the ZIP without extracting it will not work properly. Always extract first.
-
4Launch
Double-click DeskRobo.exe in the extracted folder. If a blue confirmation screen appears the first time, do the following.
- When "Windows protected your PC" appears, click "More info".
- Once the publisher and app name are shown, click "Run anyway".
- It will not appear again after the first time.
Our code signing certificate is still being prepared, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows a confirmation screen for newly published apps. This step will no longer be needed once the certificate is in place.
-
5Open a sample flow
Choose a flow file (.json) from the menu "ファイル" (File) → "開く" (Open). The flow list appears on the left, the steps in the middle and the selected step's settings on the right.
-
6Run and check the result
Choose "実行" (Run) → "実行" from the menu, and the steps run from top to bottom. Each step shows a status such as "実行中" (running), "成功" (succeeded) or "失敗" (failed), and the results are recorded in the log at the bottom. To stop midway, choose "実行" → "停止" (Stop).
-
7Run on a schedule
Register the command-line runner DeskRobo.Runner.exe in Windows Task Scheduler to run flows automatically at a set time. Here is an example that runs every day at 9:00 (run it in Command Prompt).
schtasks /Create /TN "DeskRobo\DailyReport" /SC DAILY /ST 09:00 /IT /TR "\"C:\DeskRobo\DeskRobo.Runner.exe\" \"C:\DeskRobo\flows\report.json\""For flows that operate app or browser screens, register them with /IT as in the example so they run only while you are signed in to Windows.
Exit codes
DeskRobo.Runner.exe reports the result as an exit code.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0 | Succeeded |
| 1 | The flow failed (the screen at the failure is saved in the log folder) |
| 2 | Invalid arguments or flow file |
| 3 | The same flow is already running |
| 4 | Cancelled or time limit exceeded |
| 9 | Unexpected error (an error report is saved in the log folder) |
Log location
By default, logs are saved per day in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeskRobo\logs\.
